Job Description:
The available position is for a full-time permanent Licensed Practical Nurse that is based in Charlottetown within a private medical office setting and is intended to be long-term.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Venipuncture and document accordingly
- Administer SC/IM injections
- Take vital signs such as blood pressure.
- Cryotherapy treatment and documentation
- Measure height and weight of patients and measuring visual Acuity
- Applying techniques including sterile wound dressing
- Assist with patient examinations when required.
- Contacts patients regarding any follow up information from testing when required
- Providing effective communication thorough charting
- Maintaining medical supplies inventory, as well as keeping work-spaces tidy
- Maintaining up-to-date patient records
- Answering phone calls from patients and dealing with inquiries, which may involve providing medical information where appropriate.
- If supportive administrative staff is not present on the day, the successful candidate may be asked to assist with administrative relative duties.

Credentials:
- Must have successful completion of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- Active or Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse in Prince Edward Island.
- CPR Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Experience in a primary care setting will be considered an asset.
