Resident Care Worker/ Resident Attendant

Job Description:

The Resident Care Worker/Resident Attendant reports to the LPN, Team Lead, RN or DON and assist other healthcare personnel, in the care of the residents.

The main duties include:

• Answering call signals; assist in bathroom; supply and empty bed pans; bathe, dress and groom residents; serve meal trays, feed or assist in feeding of the residents
• Weigh, lift turn and positions residents ; monitor nutritional intake; supervise residents exercise routines, accompany resident on outside recreational activities
• Take residents’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse; collect specimens such as urine, feces or sputum; administer suppositories, administer first aid in emergency situations
• Follow proper resident transfer policies, make beds and maintain residents’ rooms .
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
• Other duties as required.

Applicants must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector  Screening and be legally able to work in Canada. Provide immunizations, and have or willing to get GPA and TLR and CPR

Education from a university or college in a recognized RCW program is preferred

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
