Part-Time Contract Opportunity
The P.E.I. Home and School Federation seeks an organized Office Assistant to help engage with parents and educators in the life of Local Home and School Associations across P.E.I. This part-time position will assist the executive director with tasks related to planning an Annual General Meeting and other organizational activities that are vital in supporting and educating local Home and School communities about the Federation and P.E.I.’s education system.
This role requires good communication skills, proficiency in various office software, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This person will understand P.E.I.’s education system, have experience with various office software and social media, organize and communicate in the volunteer sector, and be able to promote the Federation’s engagement messages to school communities across the Island.
Responsibilities:
- Perform duties including assisting in organizing an annual meeting & convention, filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records.
- Manage office communications (phone, writing memos, outgoing and incoming responses to clients).
- Utilize Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Forms, Email) for document creation, scheduling, and communication.
- Write and proofread documents for accuracy and clarity before distribution.
- Provide administrative support to team members as required to facilitate workflow.
Requirements:
- Cover letter and CV
- A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as additional qualifications in office administration, are a plus.
- Experience in an administrative role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong customer support skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Email), Excel, and Word software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Wage = $17 – $20 per hour
Hours = 21 hours per week; biweekly pay period
Contract timeframe = 16 weeks
- The contract will begin Monday, January 13, 2025
- The contract will end on Friday, May 2, 2025
