Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Support and System Specialist with expertise in O365 and Windows desktop environments.  The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus to ensure the maximum uptime of systems and minimize interruptions to staff. This role will be a hybrid model with an on-site location in our Charlottetown office.

 

Who You Are
The Support and System Specialist will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of our organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and end-user systems. This role demands strong technical capabilities, primarily in our Microsoft environment. Additional skills and familiarity with Linux systems, web server management (Nginx preferred), AWS, and virtualization technologies, are welcomed.

 

Duties will include but are not limited to;
    

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows & Linux-based servers.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations for performance and security.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Manage web server configurations, including virtual hosts, SSL certificates, and security
  • Assist with administering Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and other associated applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and support Office 365 integrations with other business applications.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and training within the IT team.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to end-users as needed.
  • Resolve support tickets from staff promptly
  • Provision and configure equipment and software for staff

Qualifications;

  • Knowledge of Office 365 services and administration tools, with a track record of managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
  • Knowledge and experience with Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Domain Controllers.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cyber Security Technologies and best practices would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Some experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on Linux and Nginx and Office 365 administration would be considered an asset.
  • Some experience in Linux server administration, including shell scripting, package management, and system troubleshooting, would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and virtualization technologies would be considered an asset.
  • Any relevant certifications or diplomas would be considered an asset.
