Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Inclusion Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with a child with Autism to provide support and assistance in various educational and social settings. The primary goal is to facilitate the child’s integration and participation in classroom activities while ensuring their individual needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to the child with Autism in classroom and recreational settings.
Implement strategies outlined in the child’s Individualized Education Program (IBI) to support their learning and social development.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create and maintain a supportive environment for the child.
Assist the child in navigating social interactions and developing communication skills.
Monitor the child’s progress and provide feedback to the support team.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with Autism or other special needs preferred.
Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and familiarity with evidence-based interventions considered an asset.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Required Skills:
IBI training considered an asset.
First Aid required.
Criminal record Check with Vulnerable sector search required.
Human Service, Child and Youth Care or ECE diploma preferred .
Hours will be from 8:45-5:15.
