Job Description:

Learning manager – Sustainable Business Leadership Post Grad Certificate

Reporting to the Program Manager of Business, Tourism and Sport, the successful applicant will create a positive teaching and learning environment and provide effective delivery of the Sustainable Business Leadership program. course descriptions can be found on the Holland College website).   The ideal candidate will:

  • Assist learners in the development of required curriculum outcomes through such activities as individual and group instruction, self-directed learning, and performance assessments.
  • Deliver excellence in learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching students and engaging students in the learning process.
  • Develop, review and update learning materials, using an online based learning management system (SAM).
  • Liaising with industry to promote student learning and program connections.
  • Coordinate and manage work integrated learning activities and capstone projects.
  • Comply with OH&S regulations.
  • Provide guidance to learners regarding occupational goals.
  • Participate in program development and planning activities.
  • Perform other learning manager related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required (i.e. environment, sustainability, energy, or climate change).  An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • 5 years’ recent experience leading organizations toward change to adopt green/sustainable/climate conscious practices and policies in roles such as Sustainability Coordinator/Officer/Champion/Manager, Sustainability Auditor or Program Manager is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, regional, and national emerging sustainable business strategies, sustainability and cleantech solutions feasibility, triple bottom line approach, ESG reporting, and other key sustainability tools and techniques.
  • High degree of knowledge and skill in leading and deploying sustainability solutions, leading sustainability initiatives at various levels of business and/or government.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and research skills.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data from many sources, including government regulations, and assimilate into instructional plans.
  • A high level of proficiency in applicable technologies and software.
  • Prior teaching experience and/or Certificate in Adult Education would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to show proof of credentials.

As a condition of employment, Faculty must complete a two-year (part-time) Certificate in Adult Education program. To achieve continuing status; all probationary, full or part-time Faculty must successfully complete the program.
