Job Description:

The role of this position is to collaborate with and support Nurse Practitioner in delivery of primary health care services to health clinic families.

LPN Responsibilities:

– Completing initial patient assessments of their physical and mental health
– Triaging medical needs of incoming patient requests via phone
– Communicating with patients’ families about condition of the patient and their care
– Proving safe, competent primary health care services to diverse patient population
– Completing shadow billing data
– Preparing, maintaining and organizing health clinic client information while maintaining strict confidentiality;
– Provide clerical support to Nurse Practitioner;
– Gathering, assembling and maintaining required forms, reports and information on clients  charts, including transcribing appropriate information into electronic medical records;     
– Filing and retrieving documents; photocopying, faxing, and e-mailing of information as required;
– Maintaining and organizing general and client filing systems;
– Answering and screening telephone calls with speed, accuracy, efficiency, courteously and professionalism and using judgement in making appropriate referrals in consultation with the Nurse Practitioner;
– Providing information and explaining policies, procedures or regulations in response to inquiries using knowledge of the organization and its functions;
– Using various computer software applications including word processing and spreadsheets and electronic medical record systems;
– Acquiring estimates and ordering or purchasing supplies and equipment for health clinic;
– Assisting with daily functioning of the clinic including specimen transport when required and occasional laundry tasks;
– Arranging for maintenance of equipment and upkeep of the practice as required;   
– Maintaining and updating program statistics;
– Assisting with data collection for Health Clinic research
– Experience is an asset

This is a temporary position for 4 months.
