Recruitment & First Year Advisor
One Year Term Position, Commencing ASAP
Holland College is seeking an energetic/creative RECRUITMENT AND FIRST YEAR ADVISOR to promote Holland College and its various programs.
- Assist in recruiting and retention activities to ensure enrollment targets are met.
- Participate in extensive travel throughout Atlantic Canada promoting Holland College at various high school fairs and special events.
- Participate in International recruitment events.
- Prepare recruitment presentations and co-ordinate and conduct campus tours.
- Help develop a recruitment strategy for Holland College programs and implement recommendations.
- Maintain current and in-depth knowledge and understanding of all programs, course offerings, Academic Calendar updates, policy changes and educational trends.
- Communicate daily with potential students to ensure they stay engaged during the application and acceptance process.
- Use social media and other digital communication as a recruitment tool.
- Produce and evaluate recruitment data and other metrics.
- Support incoming first year Holland College students in their transition to college by creating open lines of communication through a variety of mediums.
- Advocate for students when necessary and refer student to other services on campus when required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of services that aim to create an inclusive and safe learning environment for students.
- Arrange activities and events supporting student growth, engagement, and leadership in the development of programs and services unique to the international student experience.
- Cultivate and develop an understanding and appreciation of the international student experience.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Post secondary diploma from Holland College preferably in Business, Marketing or Travel and Tourism or an equivalent combination of education and experience coupled with two to three years related work experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with international students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Social Media platforms and other computer related programs.
- Excellent communications interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to travel, possess a valid driver’s license and a valid passport.
- Some evening and/or weekend work may be required.
- Ability to relate to a variety of audiences – strong rapport with youth a necessity.
- Demonstrate initiative and good judgement and exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision yet be able to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the international recruitment process would be considered an asset.
- Public speaking training and/or experience with event planning would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Holland College programs, services and entrance requirements would be considered an asset.
