Maintenance Repairman
Continuing Position Commencing ASAP
The Facilities Department is seeking a results-oriented MAINTENANCE REPAIRMAN for the Summerside West group of facilities. Reporting to the Centre Administrator (West), the incumbent will:
- Within scope of training and ability perform/assist in basic mechanical maintenance and repairs.
- Assist in the planning, organization and execution of special projects as determined by the Centre Administrator.
- Organize efficient daily workflow.
- Establish and maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with members of the department and campus community.
- Physically able to lift & move heavy and/or awkward objects.
- Assist in the set up and tear down of functions.
- Keep accurate and timely records and make reports as required.
- Be responsible for one’s own safety, and the safety of others by reporting potential hazards to your supervisor in a timely manner.
- Assist in moving furniture and equipment as required.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School completion or recognized equivalent.
- Possess the ability to perform all physical duties of the job as required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated professionalism.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision as well as the ability to work in a team setting.
- Willing to learn and follow WHMIS guidelines and labels and Holland College Standard of Cleaning policies and procedures.
- Post-secondary education from a recognized trade is considered an asset.
- First Aid Certification, WHMIS, Fall Arrest and/or Confined Spaces training will be considered an asset.
