Job Description:
Looking to hire a cook for a full time position in a daycare setting.
Applicants must be able to:
-Work alongside administration team
-Prepare morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack for all classrooms, following a set menu
-Prepare grocery order
-Serve meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperature
-Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation each day
-Prepare appropriate amount of food for each classroom meeting all the guidelines
-Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas and ensure all thermometers are working appropriately
-Wash and sanitize all dishes
-Clean kitchen and appliances throughout the day
-Organize and put away all groceries, food orders, non-food items
-As needed, be in ratio working with the children
-As needed, relieve educators throughout the day for washroom break and/or lunch breaks.
Required Certificates
-Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
-Must have first aid / CPR certificate
-Must have or willing to obtain the food safety course
Required Experience
-Excellent time management skills
-Knowledgeable on accommodating food allergies
-Experience preparing meals for large groups considered an asset
-Experience preparing food for children 0-5 years of age an asset
-Experience with young children is an asset
