8-Month Term Position
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Language Instructor provides instruction and training to students in the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program within the PEI Institute of Adult and Community Education in a blended learning environment. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare, design, and deliver lesson plans in person using Canadian Language Benchmarks curriculum. Subject areas include reading, writing, listening, and speaking competence in the English language.
- Using PBLA, monitor and evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and complete progress reports.
- Identify methodologies to enhance language training.
- Complete and submit monthly attendance reports and necessary ISO quality forms.
- Provide support to language students to assure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Employer to provide appropriate workplace terminology.
- Perform other instructor related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Education is considered an asset.
- TESL Certification completed or in progress is required.
- A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- PBLA training courses and experience is considered an asset.
