Term Contract: July to November; approximately 400 hours in total
Holland College is seeking Subject Matter Experts to develop micro credentials in the following areas:
- Climate mart Agriculture: Cropping Systems
- Climate Smart Agriculture: Livestock Systems
- Technologies for Data-Informed Agriculture
- Climate Smart Agriculture: Data Management and Information Systems
Reporting to the Manager of Customized Training, the ideal candidates will:
- Be an expert in the topic of the training, leveraging industry experience and network.
- Keep updated on new technologies as they relate to the topic of training.
- Liaise with industry colleagues as needed to contribute to the training development.
- Work within training development goals and timelines to create training that meets agreed upon industry skill needs.
- Write and edit content that will be incorporated into instructional content for courses, in a voice and style suited to the target audience and in accordance with learning models and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of rigorous assessments suitable in a blended learning environment and to assess competencies in an applied workplace setting.
- Create engaging and relevant learning experiences.
- Contribute to the selection or development of learning resources and media ensuring they are consistent with the learning outcomes.
- Give approval that the developed training is ready to meet the stated goals: to improve workplace skills.
Applicants should have:
- Recent relevant education and experience related to the course in which you are applying to develop.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous teaching experience would be an asset.
