communities they serve.

Who You Are

In this role as the Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for the
nurturing of profitable and productive relationships with external organizations within the
policing and public safety industry. You will create targeted plans, promote the value of CPKN
and drive revenues through the sale of elearning courses, learning portals, and development
services. You will maintain consistent contact through a combination of face-to-face meetings,
virtual meetings, and additional marketing campaigns to meet/exceed revenue targets.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  •  3+ years of experience in business development, sales, and product/service promotions.
  •  Results oriented and driven by meeting/exceeding targets.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset

What You’ll Do

  •  Work with Director of Outreach & Communications to set the revenue generation target and strive to meet/exceed for each account/revenue stream through the purchase of elearning courses, customized portals, and development services.
  • Work with the communications team to develop regular email campaigns/social media/webinars to attain new agencies and potentially recapture other police and government agencies.
  • Report monthly on revenue targets and identify areas where adjustments need to be made that will impact quarterly forecasting.
  • Participate on the CPKN National Advisory Committee and applicable subcommittees.
  • Participate as a member of the Stanhope planning committee with the # 1 focus: understanding clients to grow revenues and ensuring member satisfaction/appreciation.
  • Coordinate client meetings with staff to qualify/scope opportunities, hand-off projects, or
    address complaints.
  • Demonstrate the use and application of CPKN products and services.
  • Identify and qualify new leads, prepare quotes/proposals and negotiate contract finalizations.
  • Attend and/or present at industry conferences, associations, tradeshows, and networking events.
  • Solicit competitive information and conduct regular market research on existing and new products.
  • Provide advice on product/service improvements based on client feedback and trends.

This role reports to the Director of Outreach and Communications.

Working conditions for this position are flexible, with on-call and off duty contacts expected. Travel is required, 3-5 trips per year within Canada. Overtime as required.
