Certified Early Childhood Educator

Job Description:

Hours of Work: 8am-4pm Monday-Friday

Job Summary: A member of our team is going on maternity leave (Feb. 3rd, 2023 to November 27th, 2023) and we are looking for a certified Level 1, 2, or 3 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) who is passionate about reconciliation and embracing the culture of First Nation children in our care, while working with the PEI Early Learning Framework.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Offer a play-based, emergent curriculum
• Create, adapt, and maintain an environment that protects the health and safety of the children and adults
• Observe, record, and document children’s work
• Foster social interactions and child development
• Build relationships with children, parents/caregivers and families, and co-workers
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications: 

• Must have certification as a Level 1, 2, or 3 ECE
• Must have a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
• must have certification in Emergency first aid/CPR
• Must be willing to obtain Food Safety and WHIMIS training
• Strong interpersonal communication (written and oral) and relationship building skills
