Established in 2004, CPKN has since evolved to earn its standing as a trusted, reliable, an integral component of the Canadian and First Nations policing services and the communities they serve.

Who You Are

As an engaged member of the senior management team, the Director of Outreach and Communications leads the organization in the promotion of the value of CPKN, our products and services, and the principles within the CPKN Charter. You will report to the Vice President Operations, and will provide leadership to five direct staff and work with them to implement processes and procedures while driving activities that will help achieve targeted growth.

You will ensure that CPKN continues to innovate, evolve, and deliver high value to the Canadian and First Nations policing communities by ensuring we are connected and engaged with our stakeholders (35+ staff, National Advisory Committee, Board of Directors, and 300+ member organizations (police, government law enforcement, public safety, and first responder agencies as well as private investigators and security professionals).

Under your vision we seek to evolve our existing revenue generation strategies, communications, and promotional activities. You thrive on making decisions and leading a team based on research and analysis of metrics and KPIs.

Qualifications:

  •  University degree in Business Administration or a related field. Masters level preferred.
  • 8 plus years experience in business development and product/service promotions.
  • 5 plus years of leadership and managerial experience.
  • 3 plus years experience in strategic business planning.
  • Previous experience in public safety, technical sales, or education is considered a benefit.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all outreach and communications activities and executes strategies for the organization. Responsible for the development, management, execution and measurement of all aspects of revenue generation, outreach and communication strategies.
  • Responsible for managing key internal and external relationships and fostering the police network, including the CPKN National Advisory Committee and the CPKN Stanhope Conference.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and tracking of the communications plan and marketing strategies, key messages and value propositions and the allocation of communications resources to other departments as identified.
  • Evaluate and recommend partnership opportunities that drive excellence in policing professional development.
  • Represent CPKN at conferences, events, and sector association meetings.
