Job Description:
Holland College is seeking to hire a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop curriculum for the Sustainability Leadership Certificate program, a new 1-year post-graduate program. The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with a curriculum consultant and instructional designer to create program outcomes, course outlines, and lesson plans; create or select learning materials; and develop a delivery timeline for the program
- Ensure the program design meets the stated needs of local, regional, and national industry to meet sustainability targets
- Design and develop rigorous and student-focused assessments in alignment with college assessment procedures
- Consult with and present program curriculum to various levels of management and other stakeholders
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry, students, community partners, administrators, educational specialists, and support staff
- Keep abreast of quickly evolving global and national regulations, technologies, and other advancements, as they relate to the program
- Perform other related duties.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of post-secondary training in a related field
- 5 years’ experience leading organizations toward change to adopt green/sustainable/climate conscious practices and policies in roles such as Sustainability Coordinator/Officer/Champion/Manager, Sustainability Auditor or Program Manager
- High degree of knowledge and skill in leading and deploying sustainability solutions, leading sustainability initiatives at various levels of business and government
- Strong organizational, leadership, and research skills
- Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills
- Ability to analyze data from many sources, including government regulations, and assimilate into instructional plans
- A high level of proficiency in applicable technologies and software
- Prior teaching experience and/or Certificate in Adult Education would be considered an asset
