Job Description:
Term contract from January 3, 2023 to April 28, 2023; 21 hours per week.
Duties:
- Provide support to learning managers by preparing lab, training aids and tools for practical training.
- Purchase materials and supplies for training activities.
- Coordinate and participate in various training sessions.
- Organize and maintain student files.
- Provide lab support during instructional classes including clarifications, demonstrations, and corrections for students to keep alignment with learning managers initial direction and correcting formative assignments.
- Ensure a safe work environment through leading by example, demonstrated safe work procedures, enforcing shop safety policy and vigilant supervision of students.
- Work with learning managers to make sure all required equipment is maintained and safety inspections are completed and logged.
- Assist students by providing direction on where to find learning materials.
- Help students to identify College academic supports.
- Assist with course mapping and action plans.
- Support student program needs, as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal in Automotive is preferred.
- A minimum of five years recent/relevant experience in the trade is required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation and leadership skills
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Demonstrate ability to work independently yet be part of a team
- Prior teaching experience, a Certificate in Adult Education and/or post-secondary course work in a related trade will be considered assets.
