Job Description:

The Cornwall Curling Club is a non-profit social organization with a membership of around 400 located in Cornwall.

We are seeking to hire a seasonal Bar/Club Attendant to fill out our bar staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF BAR/CLUB ATTENDANT:

  • Provide high-quality service to Club members and customers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and team members.
  • Follow, and ensure that our user groups follow, all public health regulations as set out by the Chief Public Health Office and guidelines as indicated by our ‘Return to Play’ committee and Board of Directors.
  • Adhere to all Club guidelines and provincial liquor laws.
  • Mix and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and coolers, following standards set out by Club Management.
  • Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions following appropriate procedures.
  • Carry out all tasks (including opening/closing procedures) with attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Ensure detail to inventory/inventory controls, and the stocking/refilling of products.
  • Provide sales service for retail operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 19 years of age.
  • Must have (or be willing to obtain) a Responsible Beverage Service Certificate of Training.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills and be able to operate a simple cash register system.
  • Possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Should possess (or be willing to obtain) basic first aid training/certification.
  • Knowledge of the sport of curling is considered to be an asset (but not required)

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • This job is a part-time, seasonal position (late October through end of March).
  • Typically one regular shift per week (currently looking for Friday evening or Sunday morning).
  • PLUS being on a rotating schedule for some weekend shifts for bonspiels and special events
  • Hourly wage: $13.85 plus tips
