Continuing Part-Year Position
September 26, 2022 – May 5, 2023 (40HRS/WK)
The Tourism and Culinary Centre requires a KITCHEN WORKER who will provide general cleaning and support for the kitchens. This position reports to the Team Lead – Kitchen Support working shifts Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware using dishwasher
- Scour pots and pans using pot washer and by hand
- Place dishes in storage areas
- Clean, scrub, and sanitize all equipment surfaces such as ovens, fridges, and freezers
- Collect, empty, and stack service trays
- Wash kitchen walls
- Empty and sanitize garbage containers
- Observe Waste Watch guidelines
- To be knowledgeable in handling the required cleaning products
- Observe safety precautions while on duty and report any potential hazards to supervisor
- Utilize safety equipment where required to meet recommendations of manufacturer and abide by WHMIS standards
- Other related duties as required
*Continuing part year position working 40 hours per week, each academic year.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
- Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and direction
- Ability to perform physical tasks including moderate to heavy lifting
- WHMIS and Serve Safe training would be an asset
