Continuing Position commencing September 1, 2022 (37.5 HRS/Week)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Nurse Practitioner the Medical Administrative Support will provide medical office reception and administrative support to the Health Clinic. The ideal candidate will also:
- Greet patients, answer phone calls, assist patients in acquiring appropriate services.
- Act as initial point of contact with patients and family members.
- Book appointments, send out and collect questionnaires in advance of appointments and send appointment reminders.
- Respond to inquiries and maintain positive communications with outside agencies and stakeholders such as Health PEI, pharmacies, specialist services and hospitals.
- Maintain discretion, confidentiality of information, and continuity of service for all clients.
- Maintain medical inventory and order office and clinic supplies and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain electronic/paper charts as required.
- Prepare billing sheets and charts for the following day: prepare diagnostic reports.
- Monitor and respond to Health Clinic emails.
- Enter data in booking system and maintain records of all patient interactions.
- Collect and document usage statistics such as number and type of visits.
- Prepare end of semester summaries/presentations of clinic usage and statistics.
- Maintain records of results/attendance of testing clinics.
- Liaise with programs regarding any special health care needs.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a post-secondary program in medical support services or office administration with two years recent related experience.
- Experience with medical/health terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and other office related software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated superior customer service orientation and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other team members and contribute positively to team dynamics.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Knowledge of Holland College policies and procedures would be considered an asset.
