PEI Seniors Homes was founded in 2006 with the acquisition of the Garden Home located on North River Road in Charlottetown. Since then, Whisperwood Villa and Lady Slipper Villa have joined PEI Seniors Homes to become the largest private provider of Nursing and Community Care in Prince Edward Island.
Garden Home and Whisperwood Villa are looking for dedicated, patient, and compassionate individuals to join our resident focused team as a Resident Care Worker (RCW)/Personal Support Worker (PSW). Candidates who have excellent communication skills, organized work habits, a positive attitude, and an outgoing personality will excel in our homes. RCW/PCW’s are a critical part of our healthcare team and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and social care to patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses. Day, evening, and night shifts are available for experienced care givers at our Garden Home location on a casual and part time basis; candidates must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule as hours will include weekends and holidays.
Requirements: Successful completion of a RCW/PSW program is required. Other related credentials and previous experience working in a long-term care facility will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Providing a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record check and immunization record is a requirement before on the floor orientation can begin. Recent (within 1 year) CPR certification and up to date TLR certification is also a requirement, but training can be provided if needed. Currently, we are only hiring people living in Prince Edward Island or planning to relocate in the near future.
