We are looking for a service-oriented senior Information Security Analyst to provide remote support and leadership for client projects while striving to achieve and surpass our service level commitments. You will be a technical leader within the organization, providing insight and inspiration regarding best practices, solutions and emerging Information Security (IS) threats. Daily responsibilities will include project deliverables and auditing processes for a variety of environments. Work will be conducted from our downtown Summerside offices with occasional opportunities for travel to out-of-province professional training and conferences. Career growth allows for a balance between advanced technical, leadership and project/client management skill development while mentoring alongside senior team members.
Perform IS threat and risk assessment of networks, hardware, applications, websites, online services, remote access and any other internet-facing applications within scope of project parameters
- Perform penetration testing and comprehensive reporting to include: actions taken, results/findings and recommended remediation
- Conduct forensic IS audits after security incidents
Ensure best practices and proactive planning for client environments, balanced with timely deployment of resources and communication with stakeholders during mission-critical emergencies:
- malware attacks, data breaches, cyber attacks, compromised security
Familiarity and/or working knowledge with a broad range of technical tools and solutions used in IS environments:
- servers, switches, wireless networks, firewalls, storage devices, PCs/MACs, VMware, Veeam
Follow-up with clients, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution
Properly escalate unresolved concerns to the CTO, working closely with senior technical team members or third-party vendors as necessary to resolve outstanding issues
Provide team leadership and mentoring in areas of expertise
Update/close client tickets, maintain client documentation and enter daily time records
Preserve and grow your knowledge of cyber security products, services and best practices
Display leadership in the recommendation and implementation of procedure modifications or improvements
Occasional after-hours and on-call work as required
At least five years of professional experience in IT infrastructure and security systems to include: hands-on experience with server administration, virtualization, networking and firewall configuration
At least three years of professional, hands-on experience applying IS best practices (e.g. SANS, NIST, CIS) to include: conducting penetration testing with current tools, forensic audits and vulnerability assessments
Project management experience and financial industry exposure would be strong assets
Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills
Excellent client service skills and confidence when interacting with executive end users
Superior troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced team environment
Working knowledge of help desk software and remote-control software
Strong proficiency in English – both spoken and written
Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
Advanced IS certification: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CBRM, CoBit
