Packaging Lead Operator

Job Description:

As a Packaging Lead Operator, you will have an understanding of the potato granule production process.  Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for the bulk loading, big and small bag packaging and all aspects of product packaging, inventory control and packaging crew.  This position operates as a scheduled 9 ½ hour day 7am-5pm. This position requires flexible hours and overtime may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

–          Responsible for correct packaging and labels, etc.
–          Operating and maintaining forklift/packaging equipment
–          Load bulk trailers, supply foodservice/bagging with correct products
–          Keep daily records and filing information
–          Communicate with other production areas
–          Informs other employees of unsafe working and operating practices and reports any action sited to supervisor if not corrected immediately
–          Performs any duty assigned including plant clean-up, housekeeping or operation of any area required
–          Follow all housekeeping policies according to good manufacturing practices
–          Responsibilities of this position may change according to company operating policy
–          Responsible for bulk sanitation, loading, and sealing procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

–          Good writing, communication and math skills
–          Excellent housekeeping/sanitation practices
–          Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and correct situations
–          Heavy lifting will be required
–          Computer literacy an asset
–          Extensive experience in forklift operating
