Senior Advisor, Finance & Corporate Services
Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation (CUDIC)
CUDIC is the prudential regulator and deposit insurer for credit unions in Prince Edward Island. The mandate is to protect member deposits through regulatory oversight based on sound business practices.
We are seeking a Senior Advisor, Finance & Corporate Services to join our small, dedicated team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior-level role is responsible for leading financial operations, corporate administration, and Board governance support.
Key Responsibilities
1) Corporate Administration
- Lead and manage daily office operations to ensure a professional and efficient work environment.
- Liaise with external service providers (e.g., IT, investment managers, legal counsel, auditors) and manage vendor contracts and facilities requirements.
- Support internal policy development and work collaboratively with the Policy and Investment Committee to implement and update internal policies and procedures.
- Oversee organizational compliance with privacy, records retention, and destruction protocols.
- Coordinate risk management practices, ensuring regulatory compliance and identifying areas of potential operational risk.
- Support strategic and operational planning, contributing insights and recommendations to long-term planning and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development activities.
2) Finance
- Manage and oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Administer payroll and employee benefits using Sage 50 and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with financial policies, standards, and internal controls.
- Provide financial input into strategic decision-making and business planning processes.
- Oversee audit and compliance reviews, ensuring adherence to applicable legislation and best practices.
- Participate in regional and national working groups or communities of practice as required.
3) Board Governance
- Serve as administrative liaison to the Board of Directors and its Committees.
- Prepare briefing materials, agendas, meeting minutes, and documentation to support effective Board operations.
- Ensure accurate and secure documentation of Board records in accordance with governance best practices.
- Coordinate Board and committee meeting schedules, logistics, and communications.
- Support governance practices by maintaining compliance calendars and following up on Board directives.
- Facilitate onboarding and ongoing orientation for Board members in collaboration with the CEO.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in finance, corporate administration, and governance, ideally in a regulated environment.
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field OR a diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field with extensive related experience. Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
- A professional designation (CPA, CFA, or similar) is preferred.
- Proficiency with Sage 50 (including payroll) and Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in policy implementation, contract management, and compliance oversight.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage sensitive information with discretion.
Compensation & Benefits

- Salary Range: $85,000–$102,000, commensurate with experience
