Carpenter

Job Description:

Northumberland Group is seeking a Skilled Carpenter in Cornwall, PE.

Answering to the company General Manager, the Skilled Carpenter will be responsible for a variety of on-site duties required for day-to-day construction operations.

Job Duties will include:

• Working with a crew of 4-6 people to complete tasks
• Performs common occupational skills (NOC 72310)
• Concrete work (foundation setup)
• Framing and erecting walls
• Set and install roof trusses, and install roofing
• Installing exterior finishes (windows/doors/gutters/siding/decks/etc.)
• Installing interior finishes (doors/trim/flooring/cabinets/etc.)

Qualifications & Experience:  

• Minimum 3 years of experience in residential construction
• Class 5 drivers license with a good driving record (minimum 2 years)
• WHMIS certificate
• Standard First Aid
• Fall protection or other certificates are considered assets

The Skilled Carpenter will be involved from the start through the completion of multi-unit residential properties. Work locations will be primarily in the Cornwall and west end of Charlottetown areas, with occasional project work throughout Eastern Prince County and Queens County. Mileage may be payable depending on the work site location.
