Job Description:
Early childhood educator: C U Afterschool – North Rustico, PE
Rate of Pay: Starting at $14 per hour
Terms of Employment: Part Time – Up to 15 hours per week – Flexible (2 position available)
Anticipated Start Date: September 6, 2018
Location: Gulf Shore Consolidated School, North Rustico, Prince Edward Island
Education: High School Diploma Completion of College, B.Ed. or technical training would be considered an asset but not necessary
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree, Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate, (CPR) ,and First Aid Certificates are all considered assets but not necessary
Experience: Experience working with children
Work Setting: Childcare centre providing after school care from 2:45 to 5:45 each school day
Children’s Ages: School aged (5 – 12 years)
Early Childhood Education Skills: Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities and special activities, provide opportunity for creative expression through art and play. Establish guidelines for behaviour. Enjoy working with school age children. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills. Behaviour management strategies are essential.
