Construction Superintendent

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Construction Superintendent will supervise, coordinate, and control all job site activities including the trades, health and safety requirements, site security, and site cleanliness. Responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to the following:

Complete the assigned project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to assigned plans and specifications
Maintain a safe job site and ensure the requirements of the Occupational Health & Standards Act is enforced
Effectively communicates project expectations to the construction team
Act in a professional manner at all times reflecting the operating principles of MacLean Construction, representing the company during on-site meetings with sub-contractors and the Client’s Representative
Supervise the activity of all directly hired employees (carpenters, labourers etc.) and sub-contractors on site
As the successful candidate, you are a highly trusted, detail oriented individual who has the ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment with the following qualifications:

High School Diploma
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Superintendent with commercial, retail, and/or industrial building construction and site development
Extensive experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of building projects
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Exceptional problem solving, prioritizing and time management skills
Experience with all Windows platforms, Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.
