Job Description:
Positions
Full-time and part-time instructors for the following programs:
- Practical Nursing
- Resident Care Worker
Collège de l’Île, Prince Edward Island’s French language postsecondary institution, is looking for registered nurses (RN) or licensed practical nurses (LPN) to deliver two programs to train future bilingual health professionals. These positions vary in duration, with a possibility of extension. Full-time positions consist of a 37.5-hour work week.
Duration
Various positions for up to 18 months.
Start Date
August 13, 2018
Summary
Reporting to the Vice-President, the instructor will be responsible for planning, preparing and offering courses as well as laboratory work, evaluating learning and providing support for students. One of the instructors will be responsible for coordinating on-the-job-training for students.
Qualifications
Education and Training
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or college diploma in practical nursing.
- At least three (3) years of experience in an acute care setting.
Skills and Knowledge
- Good knowledge of primary care principles.
- Problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in French and English.
- Skilled at establishing positive working relationships.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Organizational skills.
Assets
- Knowledge of Prince Edward Island’s health system.
- Instructing experience.
- Experience in videoconference instructing.
- Adult education training.
Work Locations
Collège de l’Île in Charlottetown (295 Kent Street) or in Wellington (48 Mill Road) or distance instructing for part time instructors.
