Job Description:

What is Camp Triumph:
Camp Triumph is a registered charity that provides a unique and unforgettable camp program to children who have a family member with a serious illness or disability. Children, aged 7-16, congregate in this wonderful haven where they take a break from the challenging lives they face at such young ages. We provide therapy through FUN. Our campers take part in a balanced program that includes, physical activity, healthy eating, creative arts, developing coping strategies, self-esteem boosting, relationship building, and relaxation.

Job Description:
In consultation with the directors, the cook is responsible for the delivery, adjustment, and management of the Camp Triumph menu (summer camp), sourcing and ordering all necessary food and kitchen supplies, and overseeing the daily operation of the kitchen during all camp sessions (i.e. making sure meals are cooked and delivered on time). They will be aware and plan accordingly to accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies. They will ensure the camp is following all regulations for food safety as set out by the Department of Environmental Health. They will oversee all of the kitchen volunteers and direct them as appropriate. Room and board provided.

Qualifications:
The ability to work well with others, use problem solving skills, and be well organized are the most important qualities in a successful candidate for this job.Qualifications or equivalent experience as a chef or cook are not necessary but preferred. Experience with sourcing and ordering food, and running a kitchen is preferred. Food safety handling certification is required, but can be acquired. Experience working within summer camps (or camp-like setting) is an asset.
