Rebar Estimator/Project Manager

Job Description:

Livingston Steel Inc. is a steel fabrication company which also provides service and installation of steel and custom fabrication.

Livingston Steel Inc. is looking to fill the position of Project Manager Rebar in Summerside, PE.

The successful candidate will be working in cooperation with the general manager, estimator, and project management staff.

Position: Project Manager Rebar

Job description and duties:

• Promote market for rebar and wire mesh sales by introducing this service to new clients and building relationships with existing clients.
• Perform independent material takeoffs, pricing, estimates, scheduling of work, and follow up of sales and service.
• Monitor for potential projects in the local reinforcing industry.
• Interpret specifications, construction blueprints, and project requirements.
• Generate shop drawings for fabrication and placement of rebar.
• Manage each project and break the project down into smaller tasks and assign manpower to complete these tasks in coordination with the manager.
• Coordinate and manage field operations and manpower.
• Purchase materials and maintain rebar and wire mesh stock
• Work closely with management and consult on a regular basis on all projects.
• Maintain a log of estimates and job recovery analysis
Qualification requirements:
• Degree/Diploma/Certificate in construction management or technology.
• Construction experience with a focus in carpentry/foundation work considered an asset.
• Experience in the steel industry or metal fabrications considered an asset.
• Experience working with or handling reinforcing steel considered an asset.
• Experience with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
• Experience using MS Office and MS Excel
• Equivalent work experience in project management and estimating in the construction industry considered an asset.
• The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in a project management and/or estimating position in the construction industry with a strong understanding of tender procedures and contract execution.
