Job Description:

Indian River Farms, located in the Kensington, PEI area, is looking for a seasoned leader to join our team as Maintenance Manager.

The Maintenance Manager will lead, train, support and develop team members as they organize, prioritize, and complete maintenance duties across the farm both in the maintenance shop and the field. They will ensure team members are timely with the completion of projects and day to day tasks to help meet the overall farm goals.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, support and develop maintenance employees as they Perform routine inspections and service of company owned equipment
  • Assure parts needed for repair work are ordered in a timely manner and within budget
  • Routine follow up and communication with management, farm teams, and site leaders
  • Promote and follow safe and secure working habits
  • Create short and long term plans, goals and priorities
  • Ensure all attendance paperwork turned in on time
  • Create and execute effective preventative maintenance plans
  • Other duties as directed by management

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment. Also:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required, secondary education in related field is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license (class 3 license is considered an asset, or willing to train)
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Team oriented, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft office products, maintenance management systems)
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Strong ability to trouble shoot and prioritize
  • Ability to work over 40 hours a week if necessary during peak times, including occasional weekend and evening work
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed
  • Intermediate understanding of electricity and electrical components, mechanical components, and motor vehicle components are all assets
  • Must be able to communicate with leads, farm employees, and supervisors

Salary to be negotiated and more paid for experience.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kensington, PE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work

Experience:

  • Maintenance Supervisor or Management: 5 years (preferred)
