Job Description:

Healthy Berries Ltd. produces SUPERFRUIT PUREe, a Wild Blueberry Whole Fruit Puree using a patented process, TEKMASH.  Our puree products are a convenient, healthy, and easy-to-digest way to consume whole fruit.  We work directly with farmers across Atlantic Canada, hire local, and are dedicated to our community.

Description

The Quality Assurance Associate monitors processing and records audit reports within the manufacturing facility.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and tasked with the in-process implementation of Quality Assurance protocols.  Any deviation from expected results must lead to an RCA and CAPA Implementation.

Duties

  • Initiating and ensuring approved manufacturing records are complete as required to ensure the QC and Analytical department comply with GLP;
  • Reviewing and approving new and revised documents to ensure processes comply with Quality Management Documentation Standards.
  • Monitoring the entire manufacturing area as part of general GMP compliance activities;
  • Preparing audit checklists and documenting audit findings by corporate procedures;
  • Review cleaning validation and verification data to support process activities;
  • Complete analytical review of raw and packaging materials to confirm disposition before approving materials for production use;
  • Use  both “in-process” and analytical data results to decide approval or rejection of product produced;
  • Review all process and quality events (deviations, OOS, and CAPA) associated with the production run to assure product safety and brand quality.

Requirements

  • Clear criminal record check;
  • Good working knowledge of GMP, GLP, and food safety standards;
  • Excellent physicochemical and microbiological analytical skills including handling of a spectrophotometer, PH meter, and microbiological platting techniques;
  • Computer skill: MS Office package and Inventory management software;
  • Ability to serve as a Quality and Safety Champion for the manufacturing facility.

Assets

  • Previous experience in HACCP facility;
  • Previous experience in foods plant or production environment;
  • WHIMIS; First Aid; Forklift Operator License all considered assets.
