Job Description:

Healthy Berries Ltd. produces supreme-quality Wild Blueberry Whole Fruit Puree with a patented process, TEKMASH.  Our puree products are a convenient, healthy, and easy-to-digest way to consume whole fruit.  We work directly with farmers across Atlantic Canada, hire local, and are dedicated to our community.

Description

Our Packaging/Filling Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the product filling and labeling line.  The successful candidate will run the bottle washer, conveyor belts, bottle filler and capper, as well as the metal detector, and final rinser.  You are a mechanically inclined problem solver, and are able to maintain quality and safety records, and perform routine maintenance tasks.  You have some basic knowledge of pneumatics and electrical systems.

Duties

  • Complete operation of the product filling line, including start-up, sterilization, operation, and clean-up procedures;
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on established schedules; ensuring that daily, weekly and annual maintenance is performed;
  • Record all necessary quality assurance and production data;
  • Focused on safety, quality, and efficiency;
  • Continuous evaluation of general work practices in the spirit of constant improvement;
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs);
  • Perform general product quality checks during production;
  • Ensure all packaging/labeling supplies are stocked and properly applied to finished product;
  • Remove finished cases from packaging line and palletize per approved pallet pattern in batch production record, and prepare pallet for shipment by applying stretch wrap and proper product identification labels;
  • Perform periodic verifications of fill weight on representative samples.

Assets

  • Previous experience in HACCP facility;
  • Previous experience in foods plant or production environment;
  • WHIMIS; First Aid; Forklift Operator License all considered assets.
