Job Description:
This BILINGUAL position requires travel and sometimes evening and weekend hours in Prince and Queens County to assist French-speaking newcomers and/or their French-speaking children and family members in settling on Prince Edward Island. You need to be organized, caring and take initiative with clients. You will be working with the Coopérative d’intégration francophone and its partners in identifying and supporting French-speaking newcomers – this includes needs evaluation, referral services, transport services, filling out forms, assisting in paperwork and accompanying newcomers to help them settle – finding housing, registering for health card, social insurance number,driver’s license, registering for school or adult education or post-secondary studies, referring them to employment services with our partners. You will work within a team environment and will have support, leads and information to get started. You will receive training and mentoring from the Director and the outgoing employee.
