Job Description:

JKN is one of Canada’s leading providers of technology-enhanced learning products and services.  Specializing in building national learning models, we work across multiple sectors, including police, security, real estate, and health and safety.

JKN is seeking a Financial Administrator.  This position is based in Charlottetown, reports to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and works 37.5 hours a week.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A diploma or degree in business studies with a specialization in accounting
  • 3+ years relevant experience in accounting and payroll
  • Proficiency in Sage Accounting and Microsoft Office suite software (advanced skill in Excel)
  • Ability to follow through on assignments
  •  A high attention to detail

What You’ll Do
The Financial Administrator’s primary responsibilities will be: maintain timely and accurate financial records in Sage Accounting and Excel, post journal entries, reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements.

The successful candidate will:

  • Post journal entries, reconcile accounts and maintain general ledgers;
  •  Process and distribute client invoices and receipts in a timely manner;
  • Maintain and distribute accurate listing of overdue accounts and suspensions in accordance with agency policies;
  • Prepare monthly usage reports from the Learning Management System;
  • Process vendor and supplier invoices, in a timely manner, verifying accuracy, approvals and account coding;
  • Prepare all Accounts Payable sub-ledger journals for posting;
  • Prepare vendor reports and payments;
  • Prepare regular bank reconciliations and deposits;
  • Respond to vendor and client inquiries as required;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports on revenues and expenditures;
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll submissions to JKN’s third party payroll provider;
  • Assist with time tracking reports and allocation analysis;
  • Assist in the facilitation of revenue generation and account management through the preparation of statistical, financial and user reports;
  • Assist with preparation of year-end Audit file.
