Driver Recruiter

Job Description:

Seafood Express (P.E.I.) Ltd. is a premier transportation company based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We specialize in temperature control shipping between Eastern Canada, the United States East Coast and Central Canada.

We are seeking a Driver Recruiter to help attract and retain professional drivers through local and international recruitment efforts.

As a member of the human resources team, the Driver Recruiter is responsible for projecting the number of required drivers, recruiting candidates, hiring safe and professional drivers, assisting with orientation and fostering positive and productive relationships. The Driver Recruiter is also the Designated Employer Representative (DER): responsible for compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulations in regards to drug and alcohol testing of safety sensitive employees.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of human resources experience including: screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks, orientation and on-boarding
• A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, Health & Safety, transportation or a related field
• Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. laws and regulations as they relate to the transportation industry  (e.g. Hours of Service, Drug Testing Policy, Canada Labour Code)
• Requires fluency in both speaking and writing English; other languages are an asset

Skills & Abilities:

• Education and experience with immigration processes and settlement
• The Driver Recruiter requires computer competency in areas including: social media recruitment initiatives, jobsite application posting and tracking, internet research, logistics software, online training software, Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• The Driver Recruiter must be highly organized and able to achieve goals in an environment where spontaneous problem solving and unpredictably is in the nature of the position
• Experience in training drivers would be an asset

This is a full-time permanent position with benefits. The position is based in Charlottetown, with occasional travel to other provinces or outside Canada.

Salary: $40,000-$50,000 annually to be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
