Job Description:

Association CoordinatorPEI Lung Association – Charlottetown, PE$39,000 – $46,000 a year – Full-time, 1-year Contract

The PEI Lung Association is committed to helping Islanders promote, improve, and participate in their lung health through education, advocacy, and research. As the sole employee on PEI, working with a highly engaged board of directors and a support team at the Lung Association of NS, this position is the primary contact for PEI. As a new position, there are many opportunities to be creative in program delivery and coordination.

Summary

The Association Coordinator is the primary local staff person representing and coordinating the PEI Lung Association Inc. This position is primarily responsible for the coordination of local service delivery of the organization, including direct services to clients, delivery of Lung promotion programs and direct services that augment and support these programs. Reporting to the CEO of Lung Association Nova Scotia, the PEI Association Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the PEI Lung Association in regard to its services and programs and works in collaboration with the local Board of Directors.

This is a one-year term position and depends on funding approval.

Candidates should have the following:

  • A university degree in social services or health promotion or a combination of relevant education and experience required
  • Strong oral and writing communication skills required
  • Program coordination experience an asset
  • Experience writing grant applications, reporting, and public communications (i.e. press releases) an asset
  • Familiar with budget monitoring and development
  • Experience with health promotion and client services relating to lung health an asset
  • Strong computer skills for office administration and communications required
  • A capacity to work collaboratively
  • Capable of working with diverse populations
