Job Description:
Reporting to the Brokerage Manager, the Freight Broker will be a key member in supporting the Brokerage department. The main functions and tasks are listed below, with room for duties to be adopted were they naturally flow towards that person.
Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service through intensive phone and email usage for more timely communications;
- Build loads in the system, send out to carriers, and coordinate delivery times;
- Communicate regularly with our carriers and customers;
- Prepare and audit carrier files for completeness, ensuring compliance for insurance requirements;
- Assisting the Track and Trace role to know status of all active loads;
- Soliciting carriers for the coverage of loads;
- Organizing freight for carriers to assist the Brokerage Lead;
- Isolate and identify issues and address the fix for the carriers
- Compile and organize load/sales information daily, for the Brokerage Manager
- Learn the current systems used by the Brokerage Team and as you become more experienced there will be increased responsibility to take on;
- The intention to grow and excel in directions best suited to the skill set, in order to grow into a career position
- Be on-call on a rotational basis once every 3 weeks, with two days in lieu the week following on call duties. This would be an on-call evening and weekend function outside of the office
