Job Description:
Education: College, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years in a welding environment
Wage: Based on experience and tickets held.
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves, Welding helmet
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Lift up to 50lbs
Work Site Environment: Noisy
Additional Skills: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication, Structural construction
Equipment and Machinery Experience : Arc welding machine, Gas welding machine
Specific Skills : Interpret welding process specifications, Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, Determine weldability of materials, Operate hoisting and lifting equipment, Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products, Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
Welding Techniques : CWB TICKETS REQUIRED in Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW)
Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate considered an asset
