Position Summary:
BGC Prince County is seeking a creative and community-minded Community Engagement & Communications Coordinator to lead our external communications, digital presence, and storytelling efforts. This role is key in helping us share the impact of our programs, build strong community connections, and celebrate our donors, partners, and members.
This position supports the communications and engagement needs of both BGC Prince County and the BGC Prince County Foundation, ensuring cohesive branding, storytelling, and recognition across both organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and execute communication plans that align with organizational goals
- Write, design, and distribute print and digital materials (flyers, newsletters, donor reports, etc.)
- Maintain brand consistency across all platforms (Canva, Word, social media, etc.)
- Social Media & Website
- Manage and grow BGC Prince County’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Create engaging content featuring youth programs, events, and community impact
- Maintain and update the organization’s website with fresh content, program info, registration links, and donor tools
- Track analytics and adjust content strategies accordingly
- Community Engagement & Public Relations
- Attend events and presentations to capture photos/videos and write community spotlights
- Coordinate media relations, including writing press releases and inviting media to events
- Organize and promote cheque presentations and donor recognition opportunities
- Build strong relationships with local partners, businesses, and media outlets
Photo & Content Gathering
- Capture high-quality images and stories of Club life, events, and milestone moments
- Maintain organized content folders for marketing use and grant reporting
- Work with program staff to gather weekly highlights and updates for promotion
Qualifications: - Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiarity with website design tools (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace)
- Comfortable using photography and video equipment (or smartphone with editing apps)
- Social media savvy with a good sense of visual branding and tone
- Organized, adaptable, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with youth-serving or nonprofit organizations is an asset
- A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation is required
