CAREGIVER
FULL TIME
SUMMERSIDE, PEI
Andrews of Summerside is a residential community for seniors and persons with disabilities. We provide affordable, comfortable accommodations and quality assisted living options while fostering independence.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for two experienced Caregivers to join the Andrews of Summerside team. The position requires a professional caregiver that is personable, patient and demonstrates an ability of being calm under a variety of situations.
This is a full time position and we offer a competitive compensation package, including Group Medical coverage and company Pension Plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Collaborate with RN’s and LPN’s to ensure the best care for residents.
§ Assist with the activities of daily living and personal care including, but not limited to:
o Bathing/showering Shaving Ambulation
o Mouth care Dressing Exercise/recreational activities
o Hair care Feeding Toileting
o Nail care Positioning Skin care
o Transferring
§ Supervise meals in the Dining Room
§ Perform routine housekeeping items such as making/changing beds, and general laundry
§ Follow the written Care Plan for the resident
§ Promote healthy living including physical and mental activity, health eating and resident engagement.
§ Communicate changes to resident’s health, needs and/or living conditions.
§ Contributes to promoting a positive, friendly, safe, and healthy environment for all residents, their families and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
§ The successful candidate will possess an excellent work ethic, proven ability to multi-task and communicate with residents in a pleasant manner at all times.
§ Must also possess meticulous attention to detail and provide excellent and informed resident-centered care.
§ Self motivated, career focused professional, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
§ Able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
