Job Description:

The objective of the Community Navigator supporting Population & Inclusive Growth position is to meet new residents and community needs with in-depth resources in providing integration and retention in West Prince, PEI.

The scope of the project will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Coordination of collaborative events connecting new residents and community stakeholders as determined by committee members.
  • Establish a database of stakeholders, new residents and other contacts in West Prince.
  • Create and implement tools and services for new residents such as welcome packages and regional profiles.
  • Provide direct support to new residents and community organizations, identify needs, and/or make referrals for specialized services with community partners.
  • Provide local residents with education on the value of newcomers to the region.
  • Identify multicultural training opportunities.
  • Attend committee meetings and take meeting minutes.

You will help create welcoming communities with access to resources, information and supports necessary in coordinating a smooth transition to integrate into the region.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or the equivalent in experience and training
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written
  • Experience in working with people of different cultures and backgrounds
  • Excellent partnership-building skills
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A thorough knowledge of West Prince, PEI
