In 2016, Prince Edward Island exported a total of $3,079 million and imported $4,235 million of goods and services. This resulted in a trade balance of -$1,156 million. The represents an increase in the deficit by $56 million over 2015 and follows two consecutive years where Prince Edward Island’s trade balance had improved by a total of $196 million.
