Job Description:

Coach Atlantic Maritime Bus is currently recruiting a Licensed/Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic. The position will be in Charlottetown, PE. However, relocation costs will be discussed if you are the right person!

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to vehicles to ensure the equipment is available, reliable, and safe to operate;
  • Perform diagnosis of engines, breaks, and electrical components on vehicles using various diagnostic tools;
  • Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and equipment;
  • Installation of new and added-on equipment;
  • Review and complete repairs identified in Inspection Reports;
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques;
  • May weld and cut parts using arc-welding and flame-cutting equipment;
  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision;
  • Performing other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Truck & Transport Mechanic License/Red Seal Mechanic Certification;
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License;
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Mechanic role is required; transportation industry preferred;
  • Communication skills both verbal and in writing;
  • Basic Computer knowledge in MS Office and maintenance software programs, an asset;
  • An understanding of government and transportation legislation, policies, and procedures;
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
  • A desire and passion to continuously learn new things
