Job Description:

Canadyne Navigation is looking to hire construction labourers for our pile driving crew for a wharf reconstruction project. The work is full-time contract work in MacAuley’s Shore. Regular working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm. There may be opportunities to work overtime on the weekends. The position starts immediately and goes until April 15, 2024 when the project has a black out period for the lobster fishing season. Work resumes on July 15, 2024 and the final completion date for the project is October 1, 2024.

Experience with any kind of civil construction, fishing, or farming is an asset. Experience working around heavy equipment is considered an asset. 

Labour requirements include but are not limited to:

– Sorting/marking/ preparing wooden piles to be driven. 

– Attaching pile driving shoes to piles. 

– Directing piles into place by signalling to the pile driver operator.

– Assisting in installing the pile driving template (basic cutting/grinding/welding). 

– Assisting heavy equipment operators with excavating, installing filter fabric, and rock placement.
